Next Shikaku Oyster Tsukemen | Osaka Must Eats

A recommendation I found on Instagram, this restaurant specialises in oysters which are used in all their ramen broths and in their side dishes. We tried a range of ramen from the menu including ‘ikasu’ oyster soy sauce soup ramen, ‘koeru’ pork broth and oyster soup ramen, and ‘asobu’ dipping oyster noodle. We also got sides of beef sushi and deep fried oysters. Every single dish that arrived was insanely good. What was most impressive of all, is that every bowl of ramen is so thoughtful and fully held its own unique character.

Top-9-Things-To-Do-In-Ishigaki-Okinawa-Japan

Aside from the insanely delicious food on offer in Ishigaki Island, the views around the whole island is just spectacular. There's plenty to do for families with young children/older children, couples, individuals and friends alike. Although we had 5 days in Ishigaki, there just wasn't enough time to do everything - which means we will need to come back again another time!

I really miss Hong Kong.

I'd already booked our flights to Hong Kong for our annual family trip but as the COVID-19 situation got progressively worse, I knew our trip in April would have to be cancelled indefinitely. Instead of focusing on what we can't do, I'm looking back on our pass trips and reliving the good times.

I had the time of my life eating Okinawan food in Ishigaki, some of which are completely unique to this sun filled island. Ishigaki beef, Ishigaki pineapple, purple sweet potato and sea grapes 'umibudo', just to name a few, are all must eats of Ishigaki in Okinawa. You'll be hooked once you try Okinawan food, which is distinctly different to Japanese food on the mainland.

How have I not blogged for the whole month of July?! It feels like I've been on one long holiday since April this year; from going to Hong Kong for over a month ourselves, to having 2 sets of family staying with us (from Hong Kong) back to back. It has been crazy fun but August is finally the month to get back into the swing of life. Routine is good y'all.

Hong Kong is an annual trip for our little family, and in April we flew out for just a little over a month and included a trip to amazing Ishigaki Island in Okinawa Japan. There are many, many places I'd like to travel to in this world and the list is just endless. Isaac has already been very lucky and has visited Hong Kong, Macau, Bali, Japan, Vietnam and Italy in his tender 2.5 years. Watching him see new things and soak up new cultures gives me immense happiness and contentment, and I hope to always use travel to inspire and educate him.

It's getting closer to the wedding day and we have more friends and the happy couple themselves flying in to join us today. We've got plans to have lunch at the highly recommended Balique by a couple of friends who had been before, and then it's a pre-wedding party at the almost-newly-weds villa.

We've booked a half day trip to see a cultural park nearish to our hotel. This was to satisfy me more than the others in our group as I wanted to feel like we actually got to see some of the culture in Bali, and not just spend the entire holiday hanging out in our hotel and at the beach.

Tao-Tao-Restaurant-The-Best-and-Cheapest-Seafood-In-Sai-Kung-Hong-Kong

One of the best places I've eaten at in Hong Kong this year has got to be at Tao Tao in Sai Kung at Pak Sha Wan pier. I first went in April earlier this year and then again in October, both times were as good as each other and best of all, on the latest visit I took my parents and my dad gave his stamp of approval.
