Garden Summer Prep with Vonhaus

We have not had a good start to Summer this year in UK; May and June has mostly been cold and wet, so it has completely delayed our plans to get the garden ready for Summer.

The garden, the last part of our home renovations, went through some serious transformation earlier this year and we finally have an outdoor space that we absolutely cherish. We've had an amazing Summer in the garden from BBQs to tuff-tray messy play, to hanging out in the garden studio.

Strictly speaking, Isaac's room is no longer a nursery since he is already a toddler, but I'd really like to call it that since I never had the opportunity to decorate one when he was a newborn.

I had long been a fan of window shutters way before we installed them in our home. Whenever we've holidayed in the UK, all the cottages we've stayed in seem to have them and it I just love the character it adds to the space.

We have been spending all our at-home days in the garden this Summer, and I can't tell you how joyful it has been to watch Isaac run around on the grass and having a blast on his tuff tray. Our garden needed so much work done to it when we moved in and it has taken us a few years to do bits and bobs to it.

As we have many days left of this UK heatwave and glorious Summer days, it feels like a long way off before we need to think about cooler weather and turning the heating on. However, if you fancy upgrading your current central heating system and creating a smart home like we have done, now is a great time to start planning it.

There are two bathrooms in our house, the upstairs bathroom has a bath tub and the downstairs bathroom has a shower. When we bought our house back in 2014, we spent a great deal of our savings on a complete overhaul of all the rooms, the hallway, the loft and even got a whole new roof.

After being in Hong Kong for a month with Isaac, it feels so good to be home and be surrounded by home comforts. It's taken over a week to get back into our normal routine and the past few days have been spent unpacking boxes and getting the house ready for Christmas.

Having a home office space is pretty much an essential for me. It's my space for blogging, sorting through my photos and doing life admin in peace.

We have alcoves in all the rooms in our house and it's perfect for a small desk. G has his own home office in the dining area, and mine is located in our bedroom.

Cleaning can be such a chore, but it's one of those things that are top of my priorities and especially now that we have a baby. I take great pride in my home and love the way it looks and feels after a good cleanse. With a few handy tips, it really doesn't have to feel like a workout to get your home ready for summer parties.

SCA have just the right products and tools to make cleaning that much easier. For their Summer Clean Campaign, they discovered that 76% of people are most concerned with hygiene in their kitchens, followed by 58% in the bathroom and then 12% in the bedrooms. Overflowing bins and dust were also a concern for many.

I do love showing a before and after photo for my home decor posts, so here's my dining room reveal.

Having a through lounge is brilliant for opening up space in a small house like ours and it sure makes everything look a lot more spacious. Our dining area is also home to G's office space, a use of the many alcoves we have in this house.

When we viewed our house on open day, the master bedroom was already decorated in neutral colours and we could easily see what updates we were going to do to it. I wanted our bedroom to be clutter-free, tidy and cosy. It's not quite finished yet since I still haven't got round to buying some prints to liven things up and I'm still searching for the right bed side lamp.

We have 3 alcove areas in the bedroom, and my mini home office is tucked away in one of them. We had a wardrobe built into the largest of the alcoves to fully utilise the ceiling to floor space and keep all our clothes hidden away.

Embracing a Lagom lifestyle in the past half a year has been so rewarding and as we come to the end of the project, it's time to reflect on how the changes have made a difference. I've enjoyed every moment of this project, and I wish that everyone could be a part of this!

With Spring finally arriving in the UK and ending what feels like a super long Winter, it's so nice to step outside and see blossoming flowers and trees everywhere. The weather is milder, days are starting to feel longer and Spring cleaning is the perfect way to kick start the new season!

These days, I find myself lusting after beautiful home ware and home decor items, and always have my eye out on unique pieces that inject the right amount of personality to my home.

Since we bought our first house last year, I've spent a good amount of time decorating it to a specific theme which I like to call modern rustic with a hint of industrial charm.

It has been just over a year since we bought our first home and I love sharing my home posts with you guys. We absolutely love the space we have created, so I thought I would share my home in a glance through a few photos. You can see the full kitchen and bathroom updates here.

Our house was in good condition when we bought it and nothing really needed changing, but as my husband and I have very particular taste, we knew we were going to be in for a lot of DIY.
