For the third recipe in my blog series "Chinese Food on a Budget: Feed a Family of 4 for £30 a week", I made a quick stir fried noodles using the plentiful of leftover chicken meat from the Chinese 5 spice roast chicken.
Marugame Japanese Udon | Liverpool Street
August 15, 2021
When posts on Marugame started floating around on Instagram, I knew it would be a must visit when it opened. On a day out to Shoreditch on my birthday in June, I walked passed the very restaurant and got extremely excited, I couldn't wait for it to be open!

February 06, 2020
Yep you read that right, this recipe literally takes 10 minutes from start to finish and will feed 2-3 people. It's one of those easy time saving weekday meals and if you make extras, that's lunchboxes sorted for the next day too.
Chinese Crispy Noodles with Shredded Pork
February 12, 2019
I've had this blog post sitting in my drafts since 2013 (yes, 2013 dammit!) so you may notice the difference in worktop counter and photography style compared to my usual recipe posts, haha! I still want to share it though as this is a really good recipe and one that I make at home quite regularly.
Chinese Tomato Pork Mince with Veg
February 06, 2018
G rarely cooks and on the occasions that he does, it's usually because I'm away from home and he has to fend for himself. It's not like he can't cook though because he's made decent meals before, like an impressive cheat's katsu curry (using ready made breadcrumbed turkey and Japanese curry blocks) and a less impressive pasta with pesto, tuna and broccoli.

Shirataki 'Miracle-Noodle' Stir Fry
April 29, 2015
Yep, you read that right, miracle-noodles. That's the other name given for shirataki noodles as it differs from regular noodles.
They are made from the Japanese konjac plant and water, and are virtually fat free! At only around 10 calories per 200g, and very low on carbs, this is perfect for low carb diets or if you just want to cut down on carbs. You can read a little more on my previous post here, along with the other goodies I received from Yutaka.
