Hello London! A day of eating out again

April 26, 2021

Hello London! I finally, finally had a day of eating out again in London and I am unbelievably happy and content right now. It has been more than a year since I took a train out to London and what was quite a normal part of my life had become something that felt scary and foreign. This pandemic has changed and affected all of us in some way and to live with a bit of normality now feels rather strange.

Xu Taiwanese Teahouse | London

August 19, 2018

Xu was one of those highly anticipated eateries to have hit London this year and naturally, it was high on my hit list. I'd heard lots of good things about it from friends who went, so I couldn't wait to see what unique creations Bao's creators would come up with.

Good Friend Crispy Fried Taiwanese Chicken | Chinatown London

July 10, 2018

OK, so this Taiwanese fried chicken joint is just a tiny blink-and-you'll-miss-it shop just off main Chinatown but I couldn't not share it with you guys. The menu is quick and simple, either take out or sit on the limited bar stools by the window.

Taiwanese Hotpot at Shuang Shuang, London

November 03, 2016

The concept of hotpot for one at Shuang Shuang completely bowled me over, and I have since been 3 times. The menu has changed with each visit and the prices have gotten far more reasonable since it first opened too.

Hachoo Bubble Tea Kits

February 19, 2016

The bubble tea phenomenon has officially taken over London with the scores of bubble tea shops opening up just doors apart, and now you can make bubble tea easily in the comfort of your own home with Hachoo bubble tea kits*. I know this is going to become hugely popular in the near future, since we are such a nation of tea lovers!

Bao, Soho London - The Best Baos Outside of Taiwan

August 19, 2015

It really shouldn't have taken me this long to write a post, but Bao in Soho is just too good. So damn good that I wanted to write only an amazing piece that truly justifies Bao's existence and the crazy queues that form before the doors are even opened for business.

But as I'm likely to write an epic essay about why Bao is so great and bore the hell out of everyone, I think I'll let the photos do the talking instead.

Old Tree Daiwan Bee | Taiwanese in London

June 14, 2014

This Taiwanese Cafe is a recent discovery and whilst I haven't been to Taiwan before, I have a feeling that the food here is pretty authentic. The customers are all Chinese on both occasions that we've been here. Old tree daiwan bee is located just on the outsides of main Chinatown so it's easy to miss.
