Herby Croutons with Rosemary and Garlic

November 28, 2016

Hands down, one of my favourite ways to use up old bread is to turn them into croutons.

I hate wasting food and bread is one of those things we don't always end up finishing before they turn stale. A few weeks ago, I ended the week with four thick slices of white bread, so I turned them into croutons to go with lunchtime salads and soups.

Japanese Pumpkin And Sweet Potato Korokke Curry

November 24, 2016

Using up left over pumpkin flesh from our Halloween evening, I mixed them with sweet potatoes to make these terrific tasting croquettes.

Your Glorious! Lunch This Winter

November 21, 2016

I can't believe that November has already arrived and Winter is now upon us. Winter is the time to celebrate foods that are soul-warming and a time to embrace bold flavours.

The Potato Project, Round 2

November 17, 2016

I adored the jacket potatoes the last time I went to The Potato Project*, so I was looking forward to going back at some point.

Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to The Potato Project's Autumn menu review to try out all their new Autumn fillings such as the wild mushrooms, blue cheese and truffle oil and the chipotle braised lamb shank to name a few, but the lovely people at The Potato Project made sure I didn't miss out by inviting me back on a lunch date. So off I went on a baby lunch date with my friend Eva and her little one Teddy, who is only 2 weeks younger than Isaac.

The downstairs seating area is great for larger groups and is more intimate than the upstairs bar seats, but the lighting is not great for photos, so apologies for the yellow tinged pics.

To-Ban Chilli Bean Pork with Aubergine and Tofu

November 14, 2016

To-ban chilli bean paste is one of those flavours that once you've tried it, you won't forget it. It's used in many popular Chinese dishes such as ma po tofu, four season fried beans, and Szechuan double cooked pork.

November 10, 2016

October's Degustabox* was full of awesomeness. For starters, some of my favourite snacks were back in and because there were no drinks in this month's box, it meant more snacks and cooking ingredients.

There was plenty to celebrate with this month's box, and I'll share my favourites with you in a tick.

But before I start, if you fancy trying out a box for yourself, you can now get it with a huge discount! With a whopping £7.00 off, your Degustabox will only cost £5.99!

Make sure you use the discount code 4JXWS at the checkout.

Every month, Degustabox will send you 9-15 items, some of which can't be easily found in the supermarkets, so it's a great way to discover new things.

Aqua Kyoto's Autumn £29 Star Menu

November 07, 2016

I'd been wanting to go to Aqua Kyoto for the longest time, ever since my friend had her hen party next door at the Spanish equivlent Aqua Nueva and even more so after Mandy reported a delicious meal when she went last year.

Taiwanese Hotpot at Shuang Shuang, London

November 03, 2016

The concept of hotpot for one at Shuang Shuang completely bowled me over, and I have since been 3 times. The menu has changed with each visit and the prices have gotten far more reasonable since it first opened too.

Halloween Fun with Co-op

November 01, 2016

I'm not one to celebrate Halloween usually, but now that I have a baby I can't wait to start making more of an effort with all festivities, so consider this my first ever proper Halloween!
