3 Summer Bathroom Trends You Want Right Now

August 20, 2018

The bathroom is the room that we use to start off our day and end our day. It's our own little oasis of space and a great excuse to escape to when we just need a little break from all the chatter and daily noise around us.

What To Do In A Plumbing Emergency At Home

March 09, 2018

I am very thankful that I have never experienced such a catastrophe at home, but ever since buying our own home, G and I are always mindful on how to prevent potential accidents at home, including making it a smart home so that we can keep track of things even if we are not at home physically.

If you're ever unfortunate enough to experience burst pipes at home, here is a guide on what to do in the event of a plumbing emergency.

Homeware Haul + Update From TK Maxx/Homesense

January 09, 2018

These days I would rather spend all my money on pretty homeware than to spend it on clothes. I have always loved homeware but my obsession definitely got worst once we bought our own home.

A Minimalist Look With Rattan Furniture

November 29, 2017

It's possible to give any conservatory an attractive minimalist look by using furniture in rattan direct from a well respected manufacturer. Low maintenance and contemporary, it's an ideal choice.

Once upon a time, furniture for conservatories was generally made from wicker, and although it looked attractive, it wasn't ideal for use on a daily basis. Since it is resistant to sunlight, wicker furnishings are practical, however they can look outdated in modern homes. Also, as conservatories are used a lot more regularly these days, wicker isn't really appropriate in many homes.

When Laminate Floor Looks As Good As Real Wood

July 25, 2017

Beautiful-laminate-floors

Wooden floors have become hugely popular in recent years and when we first bought our house, there was no doubt that I wanted dark brown, real wood floors with actual wood grain on the surface. We ended up going for engineered wood for stability since solid wood expands to the heat and the cold and also because it was more affordable.

Sofa Inspirations

February 13, 2017

When we bought our home back in 2014, G wanted to splash out on a fancy sofa but I was happy to go wallet friendly and get something practical. Practicality won and we went with the Ikea Friheten sofa which could be turned into a double sofa bed and had amazing storing space under the chaise longue.

However, 2 years on and our sofa has become so soft that it's no longer comfortable to sit or sleep on. I love so much about that sofa, but now might be the time to finally splurge on something more special. I now realise furniture that will be used daily are worth spending a bit more on and it saves the hassle of dismantling everything when the time comes to replace it.

Clockwise from top left to centre:
1) Akio Sofa Bed, Made.com is a practical colour and is also a sofa bed. It's very similar to our current one but without the storage.
2) Alicia Corner, Fishpools is one huge comfy sofa with a great neutral colour. Fishpools sofas are high end but likely to be good quality at that price bracket.
3. Hendricks, Habitat. I love the navy blue and how spacious it looks.
4. Julianne, Made.com The colour is so striking and I love the modern retro design.
5) Dixie, Loaf.com. In my favourite and oh so plump and inviting.
6) Ariana, Made.com. Loving the pale grey and how chic this sofa would look in my living room.
7) Sidney, Habitat It's the perfect grey and the largeness of it looks so comfortable.

Which is your favourite sofa?

Amara Homeware And Gifts

January 18, 2017

Amara is another one of those shops that completely feeds my homeware obsession and once I start browsing, I am on there for hours.

Homeware Update On A Budget

January 05, 2017

New Year is the perfect time to think about home updates and this year, we will be decorating the nursery for Isaac and finishing up on the garden. We've just had a brand new bathroom fitted and I'm still shopping for a few bits to complete the look. I can't wait to show you guys when it's ready.

I'm a firm believer in the aesthetics of a home to create the right atmosphere, and pretty homeware just makes a home so much more inviting. Garden, nursery and bathroom items are on my shopping list, so after the Christmas break, I headed straight out to Lakeside retail park.

The Modern + Contemporary Kitchen

October 28, 2016

The kitchen is one of my favourite rooms in the house. Since I spend a lot of time in it every day, the right decor and style was important to me right from when we planned house renovations 2 years ago.

The Perfect Front Door

October 22, 2016

My favourite colour is yellow and I've always loved the idea of a bright yellow front door like the one in this photo. However, as it's such a bold colour I have to admit I'm terrified of going with this and feeling like I've made a huge mistake afterwards.

Garden Inspiration

September 04, 2016

It has been just over 2 year since we bought our first home and apart from the downstairs bathroom, front porch and garden, all of our living space is fully decorated.

Dining Room Inspiration

August 08, 2016

Shopping for home ware is a guilty pleasure of mine and I have to admit, I usually pick up something for my home monthly. My dining room really is in need of accessories to give it some character, currently it's quite simple with just an oak dining table, a seating/storage bench, and some bookcases.

I've put together some of the things I've been lusting after lately and as you can see, I'm quite fond of gold accents! I already own the gold cutlery set and the napkin holder, so let's see if I end up with the other bits on here.

1) I already have a clock in my dining area but I absolutely adore this one from Mint Pots.
2) Gold cutlery set from West Elm. Perfect for food photography too.
3) Gold and white cup and saucer for fancy afternoon teas from H&M, my favourite place to shop for homeware!
4) Geometric napkin holder for the dining table from H&M.
5) Coasters printed with New York in bright gold from H&M
6) This antler wine stopper would make an eye catching statement on the dining table.
7) I'm on the lookout for a new dining table and this rustic country style one from Fishpools caught my eye. The chairs looks so comfortable too.
8) Loving this concrete planter, also from Mint Pots.

Which item should I purchase next?!

Home Decor Items To Transform Your Living Space

March 01, 2016

Whether you own your own home or renting, small touches around your home can make all the difference in adding character to a space, and you guys know I love sharing my home decor posts with you.

Cosy Winter Bedding

February 20, 2015

Tranquil yet cosy is how I like to think of my bedroom. One of the easiest ways to transform a bedroom and take it from season to season is as simple as changing the bedding.

I alternate between 4 sets, but recently I have been on the look out to add to my collection and especially as they have become a little worn out over the years. Since we are still in chilly winter mode, I love nothing more than the feel of cosy jersey or flannel as I'm snuggled into bed, and here's what I have my eyes on at the moment:

Innsbruck Grey Flannelette bedding set from Yorkshire Linen Co, starting from £17. The price is unbelievable compared with high street companies, and the cute snowflake prints on grey are adorable.

Sweetdreaming | The Perfect Bed

September 25, 2014

When looking for a bed, I love the look of a wooden frame but they are not always the most stable, compared to a divan base which are. And as a bed takes up the majority of the room in a bedroom, I hate the idea of not having storage under the bed. I'm also a big fan of the rustic/shabby look, so I have been hunting for something more unusual. With all the requirements in mind, I turned to google...

Milly Chair by Swoon

September 23, 2014

It's been a while since I've posted. It has been eye-wateringly busy since July, with a million things happening around me and I can't wait for September to be over. The main problem that's keeping me from posting more often is actually the RSI problems I have in both hands and both shoulders suffering from shoulder impingements... I'm working on it though and once I am fully recovered, I'll be blogging like there's no tomorrow.
