Best Inexpensive Gift Ideas For Him

October 27, 2017

I can attest that buying a gift for G sends my stress levels shooting right up and I can barely keep up with all the occasions that calls for a present in the year. I’m sure G is not the only notoriously difficult person to buy gifts for, men just always seem to have everything they need or the stuff they want is eye-poppingly expensive.

Top 10 Favourite Eats in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong

October 20, 2017

Being one of the areas packed with must-see tourists spots, Tsim Sha Tsui is insanely busy yet even with a baby in tow, I found myself eating here more often than not.

A Day Onboard the MSC Preziosa for #BlogCampOnBoard

October 11, 2017

Last week, I went on one of my most exciting blogging events to date; #BlogCampOnBoard organised by Trips100 onboard the MSC Preziosa. I have never ever been on a cruise ship before so I couldn't wait to experience it for myself. We weren't going to be sailing anywhere for the day but I was thrilled nonetheless. I've also never been to a blogging conference either, so that's two firsts all in one go!

The Parlour | Canary Wharf

September 28, 2017

The Parlour* in Canary Wharf is a restaurant that I've been to a handful of times and have always enjoyed for its relaxed vibe and good casual dining. As they have a refreshed Autumn menu on offer, I popped in for lunch with a friend, and with Isaac in tow of course.

Breakfast Favourites + The Breakfast Tribes

September 21, 2017

Breakfast seems to be the most favourite meal of the day for many people and whilst I don't really fall in that camp, I never skip breakfast since I usually wake up ravishing. There are exceptions though, such as weekend brunches when my sister makes her signature pancakes or decides to cook a full English!

Tonteki Recipe | Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories

September 17, 2017

The wind down from Summer and transition into Autumn always makes me a little sad and I can't say I'm thrilled when September comes round. And with that mood, I've taken the liberty of couch-potatoing it with Netflix for the past few weeks.

Superhero Raisin Buns | Baby Recipes

September 04, 2017

Superhero-raisin-buns-ellas-kitchen-recipe
Are they buns are are they scones? I was fooled for a moment when they came out of the oven thinking they looked very much like scones. But, they are in fact pillowy buns that taste great with butter and jam or with honey.

Another successful recipe from Ella's Kitchen's The Big Baking Book (the yellow one).

Ingredients:
125ml whole milk, plus extra to glaze
50g unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing
250g strong white bread flour, plus extra for dusting
225g strong wholemeal bread flour (I used 475g strong white bread flour instead)
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp fast-action dried yeast
125ml apple juice
1 egg, beaten
200g raisins

Directions:
1. Heat the milk in a saucepan until bubbling and hot. Add the butter, remove from the heat and leave to cool slightly until the butter has melted
2. Meanwhile, put all the flours, vanilla extract, yeast, apple juice, eggs and raisins in a large bowl. Add the warm milk and butter mixture, and use a round-bladed to mix it all into a dough
3. Turn out the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a clean, lightly oiled bowl, cover it with cling film and leave to prove in a warm place for about 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size
4. Preheat the oven to 220C degrees/gas mark 7. Line a large baking sheet with baking parchment
5. On a floured surface, divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place each ball on the prepared baking sheet, spacing the balls well apart. Cover them with greased cling film and leave them in a warm place for 30 minutes until risen
6. Brush the buns with milk and bake them in the oven for 12-15 minutes until pale golden and they sound hollow when the bases are tapped. Transfer them onto a wire rack to cool
7. Serve warm or cold. The buns will store for 2-3 days in an airtight container

A Luxurious Cheese and Cracker Board

August 30, 2017

Vasterbottensost-Cheese-Board
I have to admit that I am the queen of lateness when it comes to blogging. A ton of drafts with all good intentions to be blogged about... So, a few years back (ahem!), I got to try Sweden's king of all cheeses Vasterbottensost and I was immediately hooked. I can't tolerate all cheese, especially not the smelly stuff like blue cheese and even brie is a no go for me.

10 Baby Friendly Restaurants in Hong Kong for Foodie Parents

August 24, 2017

Baby-Friendly-Restaurants-in-Hong-Kong-for-Foodie-Parents
Being such a dense city with a super sonic fast pace of life, Hong Kong is not hugely baby friendly but it is improving all the time and I got to test that out when I went back the last two times with Isaac.

Smoky, Juicy, Glorious Meat at Blacklock, Soho

August 21, 2017

This post goes way back to last year when I was still pregnant with Isaac, but the food was so damn delicious that I couldn't have it sitting in my drafts forever. Better late than never.

I had date night planned with the lovely Tiff, Yee and Alisha, my Instagram foodie gang where we are constantly salivating over each other's IG feed. There is literally no better dinner companion than people who really love their food, know where to find good food and girls who can eat a truckload of meat. It's not just guys that like their steaks and meat platters!

Dumpling Shack + A Day Out in Broadway Market

August 17, 2017

I had Dumpling Shack on my eat list forever but never got the chance to go until recently. Dumpling Shack is set up and run by John alongside his girlfriend Yee, who is a friend of mine, and every week I was being tormented with incredibly juicy looking dumplings which filled my Instagram feed.
