Top 10 Favourite Eats in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong

Being one of the areas packed with must-see tourists spots, Tsim Sha Tsui is insanely busy yet even with a baby in tow, I found myself eating here more often than not.

It was a short taxi ride from where were staying and TST always seemed to be a good halfway point for meeting friends. And the fact that there are lots of shopping malls around meant most places had baby friendly dining options.

There's plenty of good food to be eaten in TST and whilst I've already shared a lot of them on 10 Baby Friendly Restaurants in Hong Kong for Foodie Parents, some of the ones in this list are new and is focused on TST alone.

The Yuu
This is one of my favourite Japanese restaurants after being introduced to it by a good friend. It's great value for good quality food and I've blogged about it for dinner and for lunch. The sushi sets and yakitori are foolproof.
Address: 4/F Prosperous Centre, 1 Knutsford Terrace, Tsim Sha Tsui

Marugame Seimen
I choose udon over ramen any day and to find an udon bar exactly like the ones in Tokyo, is a dream come true. The udon is perfectly bouncy and there's lots of tempura bits to choose from to bulk up a meal. It's tasty and and it's cheap.
Address: Shop 609, 6F, iSquare, 63 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui

Shanghai Popo
Right next to Marugame udon, is Shanghai Popo. The double cooked pork and xiaolong bao is super. The restaurant is one of the most spacious ones in TST, so you never have to wait long for a table.
Address: Shop 605-606, 6F, iSquare, 63 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui

Kenjo
This is a top market sushi and sashimi restaurant serving high quality fish. Come here for lunch and you pay just a fraction of the price as you would for dinner. Lunch sets are around $200-250 a set and if you grab a bar seat, you can watch the skilful chefs at work.
Address: G/F, 30 Minden Avenue, Tsim Sha Tsui

On-Yasai
Japanese style hotpot shabu shabu at its best. Each person is served with their own individual hotpot and you can choose from the sets or a la carte. There's lots of choices with the soup base too, and the beef has amazing marbling on it.
Address: Shop 37a, 3/F, LCX, Ocean Terminal, Harbour City, 3-27 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui

Goobne
Filled with youngsters who love a bit of k-pop, Goobne serves Korean fried chicken but without the unhealthiness. The chicken is baked to crispiness instead of being deep fried and the flavours are incredible after being marinaded for 24 hours. Each portion of chicken is a whole chicken cut up, so make sure you can eat it all before ordering lots of different flavours.
Address: 2/F, The Hart, 4 Hart Avenue, Tsim Sha Tsui

Yum Cha
Not only is everything uber-cute, the food really does taste good. See my full blog post on Yum Cha for what to order.
Address: 3/F, 20-22 Granville Road, Tsim Sha Tsui

Sweet House Cha Cha
Now onto the desserts. I have been hunting for the perfect matcha ice cream and after eating tons of the green stuff, I have a favourite. Sweet house cha cha matcha soft-serve hits the 100% mark for its matcha depth of flavour, ice cream texture and the just-right sweetness. Oh, and you can pick up a hot fluffy matcha custard filled pancake to go with it too. Winning all the way.
Address: City'super, 3/F, Harbour City, 3-27 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui

Lady M
Who would have thought layers and layers of crepes sandwiched in between finely spread cream could actually become a cake? Well it exists and Lady M is the queen of said crepe cakes. Each crepe is paper thin and the cream is evenly spread resulting in a light and fluffy mouthful every time. And you guessed it, the matcha is my favourite and tastes just heavenly. It's steep for such a small morsel, but after trying crepe cakes from other shops and even trying to make my own, Lady M really is worth the price tag.
Address: Shop OT215K, 2/F, Ocean Terminal, Harbour City, 3-27 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui

L'attitude
Just look at this cutesy dessert masterpiece and you just have to go. The milk flavour ice cream is insanely good and the candy floss tastes of strawberries.
Address: Shop A, G/F, 19 Cameron Road, Tsim Sha Tsui
