There are two bathrooms in our house, the upstairs bathroom has a bath tub and the downstairs bathroom has a shower. When we bought our house back in 2014, we spent a great deal of our savings on a complete overhaul of all the rooms, the hallway, the loft and even got a whole new roof.

Cheese and tomato are a classic combination and who doesn't love a pizza tasting bread? Isaac loved these cheese and tomato soldiers, as did all the adults in the house. They were gone in a flash and just as well, since it didn't really keep for beyond a day.

Bursting-blueberry-pop-ups-ellas-kitchen-recipe

These bursting blueberry pop-ups from Ella's Kitchen's The Big Baking Book (the yellow one) are super easy to make and just look so pretty. They are not very sweet at all, and if you prefer, you can add honey if your little one is over 1 year old, or a little more sugar when making the batter.

I ended up serving Isaac's ones with a blob of fruit puree from the Ella's Kitchen fruit pouches and drizzled honey on my ones once they were out of the oven.

Wooden floors have become hugely popular in recent years and when we first bought our house, there was no doubt that I wanted dark brown, real wood floors with actual wood grain on the surface. We ended up going for engineered wood for stability since solid wood expands to the heat and the cold and also because it was more affordable.

Summer is in full swing in the UK and I am loving the sunny days and hot weather. We're sleeping with the fan on full blast every night and I'm knee deep in garden renovations.

The weather has been so warm lately that I've only mustered enough energy to keep on top of housework, feed Isaac, feed ourselves and I have completely fallen into a comfortable routine of napping with Isaac for both his morning and afternoon naps. Blogging has fallen to the wayside (sorry!) and we've been spending a lot of time outdoors coz you just don't know how long the sun will be around for in UK.

4th of July and my baby turned 1 years old.

I can't believe how fast the time has flown and my baby is no longer a baby! I got all emotional writing his first birthday card, trying to use words to convey how much I love him. One day he will read all his birthday cards from G and I, and I'm sure he will be suitably embarrassed.

Following on from the previous post of our mini break at Gold Coast Hotel, here's a post dedicated to all the amazing food we managed to work through. At one point, it felt like all we did on this mini holiday was eat non stop!

Since I was not staying with my parents on our recent holiday to Hong Kong, I was going to take them on a mini break somewhere in Asia so that they had some time to bond with Isaac. But timing wasn't right and we couldn't make it, yet I was still wanting a mini break of some sort.

Buffalo wings are one of my all time favourites foods, and I know that I am always forever saying this and that is my favourite, but the sour, spicy and creamy kick of hot sauce coated on crispy fried chicken wings are just irresistible.
