Farewell 2015

December 31, 2015

2015 has been an incredible year.

The past 365 days have just flown by and we've ended the year on a high with a great holiday in Taiwan and Hong Kong. G and I have been away for most of December, hence all the quietness on the blog this month.

Classic Claypot Rice With Lap Cheung, Preserved Pork Belly + Blackbean Pork

December 07, 2015

Claypot rice is a classic Chinese winter warmer and I love eating this dish if I happen to be in Hong Kong during the winter months (and I will be this year!!).

There's usually a range of toppings, anything from preserved sausages called lap cheung to chicken, to eel, beef and salted fish with pork. My favourite however is always the blackbean ribs with lap cheung.

The Quirkiest Coffee House in London, The Black Penny

December 04, 2015

In between blogging events a little while ago, I was on the hunt for a coffee and a little break and I must have found the quirkiest coffee house in London. Situated between Holborn and Covent Garden is The Black Penny.

The interiors caught my attention as I walked past and I had to retrace my steps for a better look. The decor was so idealic with a touch of rustic, industrial/warehousey and a slight french vibe to it. I know they say you can't judge a book by it's cover, but I knew the coffee just had to be great with decor like this. And damn good a coffee it was.

#GloriousAdventures in Phuket Thailand

November 30, 2015

I am a huge Glorious! soup fan and to be honest, before they came along, I couldn't stand the fresh supermarket soups. I found them bland and a pure waste of calories.

Belgian food is not quite Belgian food if it doesn't involve mussels, chips and beer right? Belgo* is one of the more famed Belgian Restaurants in London and it has been around for years, with a newly opened restaurant in Soho.

I have finally mastered a chilli con carne recipe that I absolutely love. As the weather has turned cooler, I am definitely going to be making a lot more of this.

There are 2 secret ingredients in this recipe which makes it taste blooming fantastic, and served with sour and spicy jalapenos and cheese I can bet this will having you digging for seconds. Just typing jalapenos has me salivating!

Grub Crawl in Brixton Village Market

November 13, 2015

A grub crawl has to be one of the best foodie things I've experienced in London lately, and I am honestly a little surprised why it has never really crossed my mind to do before?! Well, I'm usually a greedy kind of eater and find it hard to pace myself whilst eating, so this might have been one of the reasons. Ha.

Home Style and Living with Amara

November 10, 2015

These days, I find myself lusting after beautiful home ware and home decor items, and always have my eye out on unique pieces that inject the right amount of personality to my home.

Since we bought our first house last year, I've spent a good amount of time decorating it to a specific theme which I like to call modern rustic with a hint of industrial charm.
