Travel + Wanderlust: More Makes Merry
October 12, 2015
Being able to travel freely is one of life's merry pleasures and nothing beats seeing the world through your own eyes and absorbing it all in. I mean who doesn't like to come home and share a travel story?! I love travelling and sharing my travel stories incessantly, recently with plenty of blog posts on Hong Kong and Japan, and in the past, Paris too.
Love Food Hate Waste, #useyourloaf With Nancy Birtwhistle
October 09, 2015
Love Food Hate Waste have teamed up with Nancy Birtwhistle to launch #useyourloaf, a campaign to encourage the nation to come up with great ways to use up leftover bread. The campaign kicked started last week, and I was lucky enough to be invited to breakfast cooked by Nancy herself, with recipes that used up stale bread of course. Before you say urgh about stale bread, everything we ate was absolutely delicious.
Kyoto Day 3 - Kurama Onsen's Outdoor Hot Spring and Yakitori Dinner in Gion
October 08, 2015
Kurama Onsen is a bit of a trek from Arashiyama, located in west Kyoto, where we'd spent our morning and early afternoon. We needed to make our way back to central Kyoto and then head up north to Kurama.
Jeremy Pang's 15 Minute Noodle Kit, School of Wok
October 07, 2015
Jeremy Pang's School of Wok has been making waves in the foodie world and I was excited to be invited to the launch of his new 15 minute noodle kit demonstration. Does a 15 minute noodle kit sound too good to be true? But more importantly, how authentic is it?
Kyoto Day 3 - The Bamboo Groves of Arashiyama
October 06, 2015
Day 3 of our Kyoto trip, we were off to do something more relaxing; walking through the bamboo groves of Arashiyama and going for a relaxing soak in a natural outdoor onsen (hot spring).
Living Room Decor - Before & After
October 05, 2015
I've been slowing adding the finishing touches to our home, so expect to see more of these posts! We have a through lounge (open space of living and dining room), so first up is the living room.
A Natural British Crunch, Corkers Crisps
October 02, 2015
Most people know that I am absolutely addicted to crisps and I have been called a crisps-monster before! I have no problems devouring bags for breakfast, lunch and dinner so when the lovely people at Corkers Crisps* asked if I'd like to try some crisps with a natural British crunch, I obviously couldn't say no...
Corkers crisps are made with East Anglian spuds and hand cooked in sunflower oil. In 2013, they were awarded gold stars from the Great Taste Awards for their Pork Sausage + English Mustard, Sea Salt + Black Pepper and Sea Salt! The Great Taste Awards are organised by the Guild of Fine Food and are in association with Harrods.

Japanese Hot Spring Egg in Dashi, Onsen Tamago
October 01, 2015
For those who are unfamiliar with the words onsen tamago, onsen means hot springs and tamago means eggs in Japanese. I first encountered this beautiful creation in Koya, the beloved udon bar that has now sadly closed in Soho (Koya bar still stands so it's not all tears).
Kyoto Day 2 - The Golden Pavilion Kinkakuji And Fushimi Inari Shrine
September 30, 2015
Kinkakuji aka The Golden Pavilion
has to be one of the most
iconic temples in Kyoto, so naturally this was a must see on our
itinerary. After lunch and an early afternoon wandering around Nishiki market we didn't have all that much time before the temple closed at 5pm and the bus journey there was going to take a while.
Yauatcha City's £25 Star Menu
September 29, 2015
£25 for a selection of dim sum and a cocktail at high-end restaurant Yauatcha certainly is a value hard to beat, so I decided to check it out with my sister as we both love dim sum.The newly opened Yauatcha in Liverpool street is very swanky, and full of elegance. It has a more formal vibe to the original branch in Soho which I have been to on 2 occasions, but Yauatcha's modern and sleek stamp is apparent. From the location itself to the half moon shape of the restaurant, this is a lovely venue for special occasions, catching up with girlfriends and perhaps a date.
As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted by a lovely lady at the reception who took our coats to the cloakroom, and then another member of staff took us to our table. Each and every one of the staff were incredibly attentive without being overwhelming throughout the evening. Service like this just makes me dine whilst being completely relaxed.
