Lulu Macarons in 2014

At the beginning of 2014, I was averaging 100 macarons per month for Lulu Macarons. This may not sound like a large number, but a batch of 20-24 macarons takes me 3 hours to make. When the dreaded cracks in the shells form, this does mean wasted time and effort since I'm not happy dishing out my 'crack-a-rons'.

I work full time, so in between work and social commitments, getting orders done become really intense. But when happy customers, family and friends tell me how GOOD my little macarons are, it becomes so worth it and my tiredness will literally melt away.

As Lulu Macarons is my business and brand, I don't share my recipes. However, I can direct you onto the amazing Steph from Raspberri Cupcakes. I learned from her recipe, adapted it and created my own flavours. Lulu Macarons would never have been born had I not come across Steph's blog all those years ago.

I called time on orders since April last year due to RSI in both wrists. I am finally on the mend and can't wait to bake these beauties again.

Here's a look back at the macarons I made in 2014 [my other creations here]

*UPDATE: My site is now up thanks to my darling husband. Thanks for the kind reminder Anonymous! =)*

 Pandan & coconut

Salted cashew & coconut

Lemon curd & coconut

Almond latte

Wedding order of 130 for K&T! Vibrant mint for the boys and vibrant coral for the girls all in After-Eight flavour

At F&P's wedding. Lychee flavour in mint colouring. Any flavour and colour combo is possible!

And finally, selection boxes and new packaging:

That's a wrap for 2014, my best macarons years yet. Can't wait to have more macaron adventures in 2015!

  1. Oh wow, these are seriously beautiful! I've never seen Oreo macarons before, but they sound like a brilliant invention! As do Nutella and pistachio...

  3. These are gorgeous. I've tried making macarons a few times since they are naturally gluten free but while mine are ~okay~ they're not quite as pretty as yours yet.

  5. I'm honestly a little speechless... these look absolutely amazing! And sound incredibly good. I love how many different coconut flavors you've made. And a big yum to the lychee, almond latte, and after eight ones. Such awesome work, Lucy! I'm seriously looking forward to the day Lulu Macaron shops can be found around the world :)
