Brunch at All Bar One + Yolkin For Desserts, London

It feels like I have been away from my blog for soooo long and that's no thanks to my iMac for breaking down.

Luckily G was able to recover all my files but there's no reviving the computer. Sad times, but I'm glad to be back and blogging using various devices (non of which are mine) as I wait for my replacement.

Anyway, back to life a couple of weeks ago, the sun has been glorious in London and on a sunny weekend, I met up with one of my best mates for a proper catch up over brunch.

I'm sure all of you guys have been to the popular All Bar One* at some point, but I never realised they did brunch or had such an extensive food menu. There's plenty of options and all the prices are really budget friendly, especially for central London.

We hit the Charing Cross branch, where it's lovely and quiet for a Saturday morning. I adore the table tops and dainty tea ware, so perfect for Instagramming don't you think? The rustic/industrial interiors throughout are right up my alley and gives the bar a really lovely ambiance.

Between the 2 of us, we went for a good old Full English, Eggs Benedict, Buttermilk Pancakes finished off with a cup of breakfast tea.

Full English £7.50. The full English was a really decent spread for not a lot of money, perfect go to if you're in the mood for something big. Worth noting that the Cumberland and damson sausages were good quality too.

Eggs Benedict £6.95. Unfortunately the eggs benedict didn't fare as well. The poached eggs were a little rough in texture, the ham wasn't top quality and the dish would have just worked better with chopped chives rather than seeds.

Buttermilk Pancakes £5.95, additional £1.50 for bacon. Perfectly fluffy and it satisfied the need for something sweet and something salty. I had 1 of the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, and another with the fruit and maple syrup. The fruit, bacon and maple together is a little too weird for me!

Our tea came with a shot of smarties too, lovely little touch.

There's something on the menu for everyone and for those who are health conscious, you can order the Boost Breakfast with mushrooms, eggs, avocado, tomatoes and hummus toast, or the Protein Power-Up that consists of smoked salmon, avocado, eggs and omega 3 seed sprinkles.

I really enjoyed the full English and the pancakes, and given the prices I'll definitely be returning again.

After brunch, we went for a stroll straight up to Piccadilly and queued 45 minutes for a Yolkin macaron ice-cream sandwich. They have gone from strength to strength; the growing queues and short sellout times are a perfect reflection of that. You can see my previous post about Yolkin here.

Hope you guys are enjoying the sunshine!

  2. I wouldn't usually think of All Bar One for brunch, I would usually just go for after work beers! I'm pleasantly surprised as this looks fantastic!
