Carribean at Rhythm Kitchen, Intu Lakeside

It has been years since I went to intu Lakeside, but now that our new home is closer this side of town, intu Lakeside and Bluewater are only a 20-30 min drive from me, making it a good shopping spot if I don't fancy going into London, or all the way to Westfields.

intu Lakeside is huge and I could have spent all day burning money here, but I limited myself to picking up stuff only from Primark and Forever21. Both are my favourites and I can never leave either of these shops without purchasing something!

After a few hours of shopping, it was time to head up into the food court to grab some lunch. The intu Lakeside food court is seriously impressive, and I could happily come here every weekend to grab a bite. There are so many choices but today, I was here for some Carribean food!

Rhythm Kitchen* is the place to grab a plate of jerk or bbq chicken amongst other Caribbean delights. The smell from the kitchen is mouth watering, and the fired up bbq is fun to watch as well as being pretty impressive.

I am recommended to have the jerk chicken with rice and peas (kidney beans), fried plantain and a mango salsa on the side. The chicken is smokey with a good spice mix, but I really should have asked for more spice! It comes mild unless you ask for more heat.

The fried plantain was absolutely gorgeous and I could have eaten a plate by itself. The mango salsa was super refreshing, breaking up the stodgy carbs on the plate and the spiced Caribbean fruit punch washed down well too.

The food court is decked out with the oh-so-fashionable copper lights everywhere, with plenty of seating too. It is one of the most comfortable food courts I've eaten in and I love the good range of restaurants they have on offer. Can't wait to come back and try some of the others the next time I'm here to shop.

My Primark shopping haul: Navy mini chevron blanket for my sofa £12, a pair of pumps for the summer £3.

Forever 21 shopping haul: T-shirts are my uniform and these 2 cost under £13 for the 2! Very happy with my bargains!

*I was invited by Rhythm Kitchen as a guest. All opinions are my own and unbiased in any way. Shopping was bought with my own money.
